We seem finally to be a time in the history of Blu-ray and mastering, at which we can make certain expectations about what a disc is going to look and sound like, and be pleasantly surprised when those expectations are surpassed.

This occurs, almost on a studio by studio basis.

In the case of The Sender, a 1982 film, directed by Roger Cristian, it's a Paramount production.

As such, and as a catalog title, it's going to look pretty good, with no real problems.  But it will be an older transfer, and not a new 4k, highly resolved and stabilized beauty.

I'm with Paramount on this one, as The Sender isn't something that I'd use asset protection dollars to upgrade.

What we have is good enough.

The story is essentially about a patient in a mental hospital, who has the ability to transfer thoughts.  It's okay for its kind.

The Blu appears to be based upon an IP, which exhibits a bit of unsteadiness and a bit of minus and plus density.  No real problems.
