The Nice Guys, a 2016 WB release, is a really silly film. Which is probably one of the things that makes it so enjoyable.
A bit akin to a bit of pate or caviar, along with a good stout.

As written and directed by Shane Black, it should delight anyone with a Lethal Weapon mindset - only in this case one of the nice guys may be the most improbable of all private dicks. Don't even begin thinking in terms of Marlowe or Spade. This is a guy who wouldn't notice the girl trying to sit in his lap while standing up.

For fans of Lou Costello, well. I won't go there.

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are the leads in this odd bromance, with support from some equally unbalanced players, with the exception of young Angourie Rice as the straight duo's straight man.

You'll also find one character, who by direction or otherwise, gives some of the worst line-readings I've heard since actors had to speak into flower pots.

Beautifully shot (digitally) by Phillipe Rousselot, the resultant 4k UHD disc is a pleasant affair, along with audio in DTS-HD MA 5.1.

A fun and mindless way to spend two hours.

There are actually two 4k releases of The Nice Guys - one direct from WB, and the other from UK's Second Sight Fils, which adds more special features and a new Dolby Atmos mix.

I like this film- the inappropriate comedy mindset, and it seemed to me that Crowe and Gosling had fun making it.

Marvelous Shane Black film. Not quite the equal of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but it's still a treat:

"When she said she saw Misty alive that night, did you believe her?"

"God, no. She's blind as a bat."

"Uh-huh."

"She has actual coke bottles for glasses. You paint a mustache on a Volkswagen, she says, 'Boy, that Omar Sharif sure runs fast.'"
