Finally, thanks to Columbia (Sony), we get the real back-story on the beginnings of Spider-Man, something that has eluded fans for decades.

Who is Peter Parker?

Where did he come from?

Why is he living with Marisa Tomei?

Why does Gwyneth Paltrow receive sixth billing for half a day's work?

Who precisely is Zendaya?

Why can't Peter figure out how to treat young women properly, and get a date?

Precisely how many (music) videos has Zendaya made?

And who is the old dude with the mustache that keeps showing up in these films?

These questions, and more are answered in Spider-Man Homecoming!

Jon Watt's new take on the old story is a fun, and expensive two-hour ride on the Spider-Man tram.

Not the most intelligent film of its kind ever made, but fun, nonetheless, especially for those holding official programs to the series.

The actual film aside, the new 4k disc is a magnificent affair, up-rezzing the 2k data files, adding a bit of HDR spice, and a wonderfully encompassing Dolby Atmos track.

Not for fans only, but best to speak to a ten year-old before viewing.

I watched the UHD version tonight. I was delighted this wasn't yet another origin story; we didn't need to go through all that again. I like Spider-Man, the character, and his flippant way of dealing with evildoers, but the school stuff usually bores me. I don't mind his pining for romance, but I like the adventures away from school and the people his own age.

I got VERY irritated that Tony and Happy didn't give him credit for being serious about his investigations and the information he had uncovered. Yes, he was a pest always seeking their advice and encouragement, but that's being 15. It doesn't mean what he had found out wasn't worthy of their attention. A deeply felt apology from them would have been nice.

This is the MCU version of Spider-man. His origin was briefly explored in Captain America Civil War.
