Terrence Malick's Song to Song, has made it way to 4k UHD via Broad Green Pictures, and the photographic results are superlative.
Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography, which combines both analogue and data, and which appears to be virtually all shot with wide-angle optics, translates beautifully to 4k, derived from its 4k DI.
The film is a simple tale, apparently about relationships, or interrelationships, or not, motherhood, America, apple pie, music fests, and breasts, of which one can never have too many. Especially in 4k.
Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, and Natalie Portman, do their level best to make sense of a screenplay, which was apparently kept in a 3-ring binder.
Which opened, at some point during production or post.
If you're a fan of Mr. Malick, this film's for you!
The only thing that could have raised it to another level, at least for me, would have been for a bit of narration from Linda Manz.
As an aside, the film is meant to be played loud, and DTS services that need well.
