An interesting 4k UHD release from Lionsgate, and an unusual film from Finland, not to be confused with Greenland.
A very simple plot. End of WWII. A retired commando has left the battles and found a major gold strike as a protector.
All's well until a group of Nazis (real ones) attempt to make off with his loot. They find that it's not a great idea. Well handled by director Jalmari Helander.
Quite low budget, shot in Lapland (Finland), with some quite beautiful cinematography. While the violence is in hyper-drive, there's a story holding it together - one of the problems I had with John Wick 4, which I found unwatchable.
For the genre, and as a film arriving from Finland, it's not a bad way to spend 90 minutes, and looks superb in 4.
Image – 5 (Dolby Vision)
Audio – 5 (5.1 Dolby TrueHD)
Pass / Fail – Pass
Plays nicely with projectors - Yes
Makes use of and works well in 4k - 7
Worth your attention - 6
Slipcover rating - 3 (attractive, reflective under-layer)
