Saboteur (1942), was Alfred Hitchcock's fifth production after moving to The Colonies, and his first in the long relationship with Universal.
It's great Hitchcock, and was followed by an even greater film, Shadow of a Doubt, the following year.
Universal's new Blu-ray of Saboteur was scanned from a nitrate fine grain master, which shows in the final result, which is in many sequences, revelatory.
Black, grays, shadow detail, are all superb, as are overall resolution and grain structure.
While there may have been a bit of grain reduction here, everything looks fine, and Saboteur is an overall superb representation of the film.
