The final episode of John Ford's cavalry trilogy, Rio Grande is a film of which I never tire.
Previously available from Olive on Blu-ray, this is a new edition, under their signature label,
and while I'm not seeing any substantive upgrades via digital restoration, it does have two
things going for it.
The main titles are no longer window-boxed, and there are plenty of extras worth viewing.
Beyond the window-boxing, I don't recall any problems with the original Blu-ray, licensed
from Paramount as part of there Republic library.
It's still pretty much a stunner. Accurate grain structure. Nice shadow detail and blacks, and a
nicely stable image. Nary a problem in sight.
For those who already have the first Blu-ray, this may not be an upgrade. For those who
don't, it should be a must own.

Pass / Fail – Pass
Upgrade from previous Blu-ray - For loss of window-boxing and some quality extras
Highly Recommended
