If I hadn't seen 'Made in England' I probably wouldn't have bothered with this. Watching it last night, I was struck by the elemental landscapes filmed on location in Scotland that nevertheless reminded me of 'Ryan's Daughter'. What a shame there was no technicolour film available! The story is a bit Austen/Shakespeare but it kept me entertained.‘I know where I’m going’
If they aren't tickled by the opening credits, I would just put on something else.My wife and I saw I Know Where I'm Going over 5 decades ago. We show it (or recommend) it to friends. If they don't fall under its charms, then they go down a notch as film lovers (or lovers, period). We're glad Scorsese feels the same way. Everything about this film makes you feel grateful to be alive and in love.
Fine film. Currently on Criterion Channel where you can also hear the commentary on this disc etc.To those of you who are unaware: one of this year's best blu-ray releases is the StudioCanal The Small Back Room.
