Shot in Austrailia, with an international cast, Love and Monsters is precisely what one might expect, and it's a fun outing.

A nice 4k, without 4k trappings, it looks fine, and HDR plays well with projectors. Will it appear more highly resolved than the Blu-ray, via a 4k up-rez? Especially from a normal seating distance?

Doubtful.

For those seeking to spend a mindless couple of hours, it's a fine candidate.

Quite enjoyable YA sci-fi. It takes a bit to get started, but once it does, it's an enjoyable ride with some top quality creature special effects (it was a surprise Oscar nominee). A post-apocalyptic thriller which takes place seven years after a disaster (appropriately, it was released during the pandemic). Geeky Joel (Dylan O'Brien), against all odds finds out that his dream girl Aimee (Jessica Henwick) is 80 miles away. But, to get to her he has to traverse a territory full of mutant monsters. The young actors are game, but, Michael Rooker steals the show in a supporting role (and his sidekick, Ariana Greenblatt is a hoot).

Director Matthew Robinson handles the action and effects well. LOVE AND MONSTERS has a lot of heart and humor to go along with the goo.
