Adding to its line of updated 4k home media, Lionsgate has released a 2009 Jamie Foxx, Gerard Butler police procedural thriller -- Law Abiding Citizen.
And it's a good one.
Well scripted, and with a nice performance by Mr. Butler as the LAC in a cat & mouse game with Philadelphia DA Jamie Foxx.
Stunning imagery, especially around Philly, shot S35 and finalized as a 2k DI, the new 4k shows off the rich blacks in darker sequences, and there are many, via a pleasant smattering of HDR.
There was a longer "Director's Cut" on Blu, but the difference seems more toward sizzle than actual necessity. The new 4k is the theatrical cut at 109 minutes.
Image - 5 (HDR10/Dolby Vision)
Audio - 5 (Dolby Atmos)
Pass / Fail - Pass
Upgrade from Blu-ray - yes
