Free Guy is a wonderfully uplifting film, about a search for freedom in a world that doesn't exist.
An interesting idea, actually.
First time that I can recall.
Somehow, the characters are living inside a huge open world video game - a terrific idea - and the kicker is that like other analogue based films - think Bram Stoker's Dracula and What Dreams May Come - everything is real. Well, not exactly. It was shot digitally.
Shot on location in and around Boston,Massachusetts.
Hugely entertaining once one figures out what it's about, beautifully shot, with a great Dolby Atmos track.
Overall, an incredible concept, and finally something totally new to filmdom.
HDR works nicely with projection. We seem to be out of the "dark as a bat's groin" era.
A beautifully rendered 4k UHD release.
Image – 5 (HDR 10)
Audio – 5 (Dolby Atmos)
Pass / Fail – Pass
Plays nicely with projectors - Yes
Makes use of and works well in 4k - 5
Highly Recommended
