First, and possibly most important, Fall Guy, a live-action Looney Tune directed by David Leitch, arrives in an embossed slipcover that also has metallic components. Overall attractive, and probably not disposable.

While the obverse basically replicated that of the plastic holder within, the reverse allows larger imagery and printed content.

Shot in Australia with Arri gear and Panavision anamorphic optics, it's visuals work well within the 4k UHD framework, inclusive of Dolby Vision.

Basically an almost continuous action sequence using plenty of stunt persons, characters never really get beyond the concept of a cartoon cardboard cut-out.

I far prefer to spend time with Bugs.

I may have made calculated error in viewing the film, which had been recommended by someone I trust, in presuming that more may be better.

It doesn't seem to be.

The Extended Cut, which contains 20 minutes more running, jumping and flying through the air, was a total slog.

Might I have appreciated the shorter theatrical cut?

Possibly, but two hours is far too important to me to go back and re-visit.

Image - (Dolby Vision)

Forensic - 10
NSD - 10

Audio – 10 (Dolby Atmos)

Pass / Fail – Pass

Plays nicely with projectors - Yes

Makes use of and works well in 4k - 8

Worth your attention - 2

Slipcover rating - 2.5

I do agree that the film felt long in the theater.
The final action segment was a bit much. Still liked the film though.

Mr Harris,
I felt the same way after being told to watch and enjoy it...

I could not.

I watched the theatrical version, it's (probably) tighter and less dreadful from the sounds of the extra 20 minutes of your life you'll never get back due to watching the director's cut.

TFG looked and sounded good...
but so do DRIVE and EDGE OF TOMORROW.

"Worth your attention - 2"

Generous rating. haha.

Ever grateful,
Wes

A shame they didn’t make a film based off Chuck Roberson’s autobiography, which shares the same name as this film. That was an extremely fun read
