With the novel concept of "Everyone's a suspect," Drop, from Blumhouse/Universal, is a reasonably entertaining thriller if consumed with a nice cabernet and a huge dose of suspension of disbelief.

If the tag line brings hopes of the great Christie to mind, don't expect much.

Important things first.

The slipcover, presumably for first edition only, is an attractive affair, made interesting by not only embossing of the title on the obverse - presumably over a reflective sub-layer, but also the use of said reflectivity in other areas.

Meghann Fahy is the lead as a put upon young woman out on a first date, when the bottom drops out.

Did I mention suspension of disbelief?

If you have that ability, the film is a 90+ minute ride.

As a 4k UHD release, it looks fine, as it's true 4k from start to finish.

Strangely (or not) shot in Ireland. I was trying to place the exterior city location and failed. Initially, I was thinking Chicago. But no.

Forensic - 10
NSD - 10

Audio – 10 (Dolby Atmos)

Pass / Fail – Pass

Plays nicely with projectors - Yes

Makes use of and works well in 4k - 7.5

Worth your attention - If you're a Blumhouse / Fahy fan

Slipcover rating - 4

I also thought it was a decent effort over a ridiculous concept. And, yeah, lots and lots of suspension of disbelief. However, the biggest for me was how this heroine was able to afford a large, two-story, craftsman-style home filled very expensive designer decorations. Who knew therapists made that much money!

I thought this started off fairly strong but by the climax, it went way too far beyond my ability to suspend disbelief.

Also, I immediately figured out
the bad guy simply because I had seen the actor before and I knew they had to have hired them for more than just as a random character.

It’s very silly, but I enjoyed it. Meghann Fahy is really good. She could be the next Julianne Moore, who she kind of reminds me of in this.
