I didn't A/B them for the length of the film, but I think that any alternations to the dialogue or effects is minor at best. They're still mostly mono, with some ambience steered to the surrounds, but not much in the way of obvious added effects.
Yes, the center channel takes the heavy load. Very little "action" in the surround channels and the LFE is basically silent.

Paramount really went extreme with Limited Edition on this. What did they print? 100? Keeping my fingers crossed a standard UHD release will be released before the end of the year.
The Chinatown 4k seems to be back in stock on that site named after the South American rain forest.

The Australian version came out yesterday at retail of AUD$34.08 (about US $23.50). I bought it - it's a single disc, from the UK, with all of the extras.

I had a quick look, and it is magnificent.

Placed my order today for deliver next weekend Sept 1-3. Just in time for the long weekend. I'm keeping my blu-ray copy obviously since one is not included.

So did I, though my 4K player would have to be out of commission for me to ever watch it again. I also kept my widescreen laserdisc because it has a music-only audio track in splendid mono. I kept my DVD because it's in a little box with "The Two Jakes", I guess. What can I say, it's one of my ten all-time favorites.

I keep all my blu-ray copies when I upgrade so I have a back-up copy. Who knows if or when something some titles will ever be available again.

I ordered a copy the other day from Amazon. I don't order from Amazon much these days, and there was no discount from the MSRP, but that's still cheaper than any copy offered on eBay. And since it has a BD of The Two Jakes included, I can trade-in my previous BDs of the two films to Bull Moose.

It's out for delivery today, but lord knows when it'll actually show up.

On edit: It showed up. Looking forward to it.
