I've not ever been a Fulci fan, but obviously Mr. Lustig knows that there's a huge fanbase for his work, and has - once again - pulled out every imaginable stop to create a perfect Blu-ray.
This time the subject is his 1982 The New York Ripper.
Sourced from the original camera negative, the final result is far better than would have been seen on theater screens.
Over the decades, the film was cut for censorship - banned in the UK, and appears via Blue Underground, for the first time on Blu-ray in a totally uncut and uncensored form.
Not being a Fulci fan, doesn't mean that one cannot appreciate the work that has gone into the creation of this release, which is fully gorgeous. Color, density, shadow detail, grain structure - all handled beautifully.
For Fulci fans, this release will be nirvana.
To round out the package, eleven special extras, plus trailer and poster art.
And as a cherry on top, a CD of the score on disc 3.
