The Gate is the latest from Lionsgate in their superbly produced Vestron Collector's Series.

Keeping in mind that the majority of these Vestron productions were very low budget fare, created for a quick theatrical play, followed by VHS, Lionsgate is treating these as akin to the finest of caviar.

Like those that arrived before it, in the series, The Gate has superb image and audio quality, reproducing the film accurately in its 2.0 aural perspective, and allowing a major upgrade in the image.

    There's a lesson here.

If you're a kid, and digging geodes, and find yourself involved with a huge collapsed pit, be aware that something could be heading your way form "the other side."

Those who have seen Poltergeist will understand what that its.

    Serious stuff.

For lovers of these films, director Tibor Takacs is still at it, with future productions, as well as recent films. Do we need indies?

    Absolutely!
