A welcome addition to Shout Factory's very special series of large format (IMAX) documentaries, Mysteries of China is a magnificent 4k Blu-ray.

With both HDR and non-HDR data, this is yet another test of one's 4k abilities, and looks terrific on both flat panels, as well as in projection. Detail and overall resolution are almost other-worldly.

As I was viewing, the thought zipped through my mind that this could actually run on a huge screen, if it were not for the lack illumination.

Dealing more with ancient China, and archaeology, the film is a great way to spend 40 minutes, while showing off your 4k abilities.

This is true 4k.

I would also recommend looking at Michael Wood's "The Story of China". Interesting PBS documentary series on the history of China and will look this new release too.
