    Robert Harris:

I have acted in this stage show 3 times (two playing Higgins) and know every line in the show. I was transfixed during the whole time watching this Blu-ray. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

When I opened my package the third disk was loose. I had a devil of a time getting it back in where it belonged too. Not a fan.

Wondering if the opening credit sequence with the Flowers was usable from the OCN this time around....

On my first attempt, the second disc wouldn't play. Now, it's just frozen at the legal disclaimer after the language selection screen. This is kinda ridiculous...

EDIT: Yep, now my bluray player switches between getting stuck on the legal disclaimer, then stopping, or not being able to play the disc at all.

I thought Blu-ray discs have a tough, scratch-resistant coating. I remember seeing someone in a video take a pizza cutter and a knife and a few other nasty implements to a disc and it kept playing. It was on YouTube, so it had to be true.

I have had some discs get hung for no good reason and the strange solution was to disconnect my PlayStation's network connection.

The packaging sucks as do the "special features". The packaging will scratch and potentially give a razor cut. I hate it.
    Otherwise Excellent

Upon further review, I noticed the underside of disc one and disc two look completely different from each other. Disc 1 has the protective covering to it like you'd normally see on bluray discs. Disc two looks like there's not only no coating on the underside, but it also looks like there's nothing on the disc, either. It's almost like they only loaded the initial start menus, but forgot to put the rest of the features on the disc...

In any case, I'm returning my current copy, and Amazon is sending me a new one. Hopefully, the replacement is free of errors.

A razor cut? I just sat there with the packaging trying to give myself a razor cut and I couldn't even figure out HOW that could ever happen. The packaging is, in fact, so easy to do and I think people are just trying to make it as difficult as possible. The lip of the disc bottom isn't supposed to be SHOVED down there - it sits in there resting just at the edge - you can almost just lay it down and it's secure quickly.

Digipaks are inferior to keepcase packaging in many ways, and this case is no exception. They're comparatively cumbersome, less protective of the cover art, and in this case of the discs because of the method of securing them in the package. As great as this release is, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired.

If you love digipaks in general, and this one in particular then fine, but don't suggest that people who don't like them are "out of their minds".

I just went out today and purchased My Fair Lady 50th Anniversary at Target for $24.99. I am very happy with the video and audio quality of this release but I also had an issue with two discs being loose. The packaging looks nice but it just doesn't hold the discs very well.

In my humble opinion the packaging is not worthy of the truly exceptional craftmanship, dedication and belief that has been put into this fantastic restoration. Generations to come will be so lucky!

Put it on last night to sample before watching my halloween movie before this weekend ( The Undying Monster ) - my sampling lasted the entire moive :D

I have said it before but cannot do anymore (except buy a "spare" copy soon) other than say Thank you to all involved!

    Regards

    Chuck,

That is incredible! I would be more curious to compare to the previous DVD, which was not botched the way the 2011 Blu-ray was.

    Thanks for sharing!

No point in comparing a standard definition DVD to Blu-ray.

A razor cut is when something sharp will cut your skin - in this case the near glass-like plastic edges (unless yours is made of something else please fill us in). But disregard the razor sharp edge issue- as another member said this is TOTALLY not worthy for a film of this caliber, Mine already has hair-line scratches all over the front and back cover - just examine it under any light source. And the way you have to shove the disc into this slots is moronic. Why? Who decided this?? Is it cheaper to produce?

MFL was the premiere laserdisc box set back in the day with beautiful packaging including the CD soundtrack-

What does silver mylar in any way shape or form have to do with MFL??

That should have been included on the special features disc which is truly lame. Spartacus on the other hand has Amazing special features.
