Jupiter Jones seems like a nice enough young woman. Put upon by her entire Russian emigre family to work day and night as a cleaning lady, having her eggs sold by her cousin, who needs a new video game console. She's just not enjoying her life.
Enter the Wachowskis, who with a bit of slight of hand, a few special effects, the talent of John Toll behind the camera, and a reported 175 million dollars, has created an epic sci-fi production, via which every dollars really does show on screen.
But do we care?
Especially after her own survival depends upon not saving the very family members who have kept her locked in domestic slavery.
What I'm pleased to report, is that Warner Bros. 4k UHD disc mit HDR, is a pretty affair, especially now that Sony has seen fit to finally update their firmware to accept 4k and HDR in a more friendly manner.
While the 4k attributes of the release are pretty, where they can be, they seem to be beneath the norm for other 2 to 4k uprezzed titles.
Audio, in Doby Atmos, is superb.
Other than that, nothing to see here.
Channing Tatum (with 1940s Fox-style facial hair) is Hans Brinker, while Mila Kunis is trapped in the role of Jupiter, attempting to work through family squabbles that go back to Shakespeare's time.
Please stay clear of the police lines, and move on.
