Peter Berg's Deepwater Horizon is a film that reminds the viewer that "big business" can easily lose sight of the people working for them, and in doing so, endanger their lives.
The villain here is oil company BP, and the disaster that ensues is totally man-made, and preventable.
While the film is an unpleasant tale, and uncomfortable entertainment, it serves it's purpose. For the record, Mr. Berg was brought in to complete the film, after J.C. Chandor left the project.
The basic structure returns to the concept of "for the want of a nail...," as small things begin to accumulate, leading to disaster.
As a 4k release, the film looks fine. It appears to be a 2k up-rez, and the HDR added here, seems fine, but ultimately unnecessary.
Audio, in Dolby Atmos places us right in the action.
