Adam Resnick's Cabin Boy is one of those over-the-top comedies that's a fan favorite, and is finally available on Blu-ray via Kino Lorber, as part of their deal with Disney (Touchstone).

Quality is superb, and extras will please those fans.

Color, grain structure, shadow detail, overall stability are all in place, and hopefully this Touchstone release has portents for the future toward a quality Blu-ray of The Color of Money. One can only hope.

Yes, "The Color of Money" is sorely in need of some fixing up.
Newman's sole Oscar win deserves better;
as does this work by cinematographer Michael Ballhaus.
As it is, "The Hustler" (1961) looks superior by comparison;
so there's really no reason that the "The Color of Money" (1986) shouldn't also be at its peak in PQ.

You really will review just about anything, RAH. :)

Takes me away from the real world, and a respite from work.

I’m also a non-discrinatory reviewer. Whether I like a film or not is not relevant. Generally attempting to inform as to whether something is a safe purchase.

Yes - Color of Money - new transfer - please. Would also love to see Kino get its hands on the following Disney product: I Love Trouble, Pretty Woman - Dir. Cut, Outrageous Fortune, The Doctor, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, and, Hello Again.

This is wonderfully dorky film and especially delightful if you watch it as a Ray Harryhausen parody (tho it's more of a tribute since Tim Burton was a producer).

The Cameo is indeed classic and I love that despite a big film deal, this was the only film he'd appear in.
