I'm beginning to hope that To Catch a Thief was an anomaly in the new Paramount Presents series, as Jerry Zucker's Ghost is a wonderfully presented Blu-ray.
Gone is the constant motion within the frame on the earlier transfer. Color, black levels, shadow detail, all fine. Grain appears to be similar to the earlier, without quite the excessive build-up in some darker areas. Just fine.
A Wonderful film from 1990 - can it really be thirty years old? - that beautifully stands the test of time.
Wonderful Maurice Jarre score, edited by Walter Murch, shot by Adam Greenberg.
Two wins for Academy Awards: Whoopi Goldberg (Best Supporting), and Bruce Joel Rubin (Screenplay)
Not a problem in sight.
Image – 5
Audio – 5 (Dolby TrueHD 5.1)
Pass / Fail – Pass
Upgrade from DVD - Most definitely, unless quality is not an issue
Highly Recommended
