Possibly I'm just not a Lovecraft fan, although I find Arthur Machen's work very interesting. Different tones.

Richard Stanley's Color out of Space was recommended to me, and I've viewed the 4k, which is a lovely 4k release.

It's the film, or possibly the screenplay that the problem.

Throughout the 111 minute running time, I kept thinking there would be a lesbian angle, as the entire production design is in lavenders, violets,
and affiliated shades - official lesbian colors.

Nada.

An interesting role for Nicholas Cage, whose scream factor in this one reaches 7+. Madeleine Arthur is fine. Joely Richardson and Julian Hilliard take on roles similar to the huskies in The Thing, and Tommy Chong plays stoner, Ezra.

Possibly it's for true Lovecraftians, but for me the 111 minutes went on for about three hours.

Track is nicely venue filling.

Nonetheless, an unusual 4k indie release. We need more.
