My DVD player is about a year old.... made by "Roland" ? I don't know much about dvd players, but this one is not a "progressive scanning" DVD player.

The DVD player has s-Video, but nothing that resembles "component output" or DVI. Would s-Video connection make this a nicer image? Or, should I scrap it alltogether and get a progessive scanning DVD player? Sorry for so many questions, but what connection type is best to go with(component, or s-video)?

Currently, the DVD player is connect to my HDTV through relular RCA jacks, and the picture is..... well... let's say it is "ok", but jittery.

Larry,
You should get a better picture with S video, but for the best picture I'd recommend getting a progressive scan player and connecting it via component cables.
