Scream Factory is releasing Paramount’s 1990 Tales from the Darkside, which I presume is a sort of horror / comedy.
While it hasn’t aged well, it should be welcomed by fans of the genre. as it’s fun overall.
Imagery is okay, but nothing special. A bit soft in some shots. A quart low on grain, but it is what it is. Nothing startling here. Only other problem that I’m seeing are occasionally burned out highlights.
Reason for fans to pick this one up is in the extras.
Director, John Harrison, is still at it, and that’s a good thing for fans.
Image – 3.75
Audio – 5 (DTS-HD MA 5.1)
Pass / Fail – Pass
Upgrade from DVD – why not
