Anybody besides Mike Frezon interested in this film?;) It's interesting about the director of the film. Will it be better than "A Dog's Purpose"?

I've seen the trailer several times. Feels like I've seen the whole movie already.

Exactly. Admittedly, it doesn't take a whole lot to figure out the movie will end with the dog's return home - it's the way movies like this work, and it's the frickin' title - but the trailer nonetheless makes sure we know that's how it'll conclude!

Seems like an odd choice to basically show the whole story, beginning to end, in the trailer!

Maybe that’s not the whole story. This could be the pre-title sequence., and the real movie is about what happens next. The mind reels at the possibilities.

Maybe she makes friends with a hamster in a ball on the way home and they kept that out of the trailer to preserve the surprise.

Maybe the hamster gets eaten by the mountain lion to add some dramatic tension between the dog and her lion pal. The possibilities are endless.

My wife and I saw this on Monday. OMG, the CGI animals are PATHETICALLY bad in this film. Every time one of the CGI animals was on screen it felt like someone was slapping me in the face and yelling "it's not real".

The dog was real, fortunately, and the story, though VERY predictable, was interesting. But I simply cannot recommend the film due to the horrible fake animals.

Sign of the times, isn't it?

We have all seen what the very best in CG looks like, it's hard to settle for anything less.

Mark, are they truly awful as in on the very bottom tier of current CG?

No. But awful enough to take me completely out of the movie every time they did a closeup of one of the CGI animals, particularly the big cat (which has a pretty fair amount of screen time).

They did a pretty decent job of hiding the weak CGI in the trailer. They only show very quick glimpses of the CGI animals in the trailer. In the film you get longer shots, particularly the big cat. Ugh!

Here, I found a still frame of the big cat:

Yes, that's how fake it looks in the film too.

Bad CGI doesn't bother me as much as it does with some people. I'm more into the story telling.

The issue with me is that if the CGI is bad enough for me to notice it and think that it's bad, it's taking me out of the storytelling in order to notice that it's bad, when my focus should be on the story that the movie is attempting to tell.
