    Hi all,

I have a couple AVIA questions. I am using it to calibrate my 5.1 system composed of an Onkyo SR600 receiver and Aperion speakers.

    1) When using AVIA to find the "reference level" volume setting of your receiver, it appears that AVIA has a test to do this for each speaker and one that uses simultaneous pink noise of all speakers. Which do you use?

    2) There doesn't seem to be any documentation on the frequencies used in the subwoofer frequency sweep tests. Anyone have any ideas what tones they use?

    thanks!

    Brian,

Use the individual speaker tones and calibrate so you get 75db on the Radio Shack meter from each one at the listening position.

When you run the low frequency sweeps, watch the tv screen--there's a HZ readout in the upper right hand corner that shows the frequency in HZ as it sweeps down.

The Avia tones are actually 85db (75db for Video Essentials)....
