Is the Special edition of A Bugs Life worth the extra money or should I go with the Gold edition?

The Collectors Edition has an anamorphic transfer. The Gold does not.

Special edition is has so many great goodies,
I cannot imagine being happy with the "gold edition."

If memory serves me correctly, the Gold Edition was re-issued with the anamorphic transfer. The Collectors edition is the one to get though if you have any interest in special features.

Yeah, the single disc version was reissued and the rumors were that it would be an anamorphic transfer but it is not. You can only get the anamorphic transfer in the double disc set.

I did an upgrade from the standard edition to the collectors without any regrets. My advice is shop for the best price and purchase the more expensive version.

The price is steep but worth it. Get the 2 disc CE.

Thanks for the iinfo. I ad read somewere that the picture quality on the special edition was better, because it came direcly from the digital source ( without counting that it's anamorphic). Can anyone comfirm this?

They're all direct from the digital source... but the 2-disc SE is the way to go if you want anamorphic widescreen. Also of note, the SE has an effects-only 5.1 track for the fullscreen version that is very cool.
