I have An RX-V1400 Yamaha reciever capable of 96/24 playback. My last reciever was a Sony 2-ES, also capable of 96/24. Whenever I play a source decoded in DTS, I never know if it is in 96/24. Do I have to have sources encoded in 96/24. No display ever is shown on the reciever. What is it and how do I know if it is being used or not?

96/24 are music discs only, AFAIK. If you don't have any DTS audio (not DVD-A) discs, then it is unlikely that you have 96/24 material.
