Elusive disc is offering a bunch of their new single-layer titles for $25 and mostly $30.[IMG] 88's is a Universal label, si? Isn't it? Pricing this high hurts the format, it sucks![IMG]

Rachael, I noticed that in an e-mail newsletter from Elusive Disc today. It bothers me, on the one hand, for the same reason it bothers you. On a more personal level, it doesn't phase me because the artists don't appeal to me. When all is said and done, $25-30 is too much to pay for an SACD. [IMG] [IMG]

Lee, I suspect you are right. Audiophiles regularly pay higher prices for CD, SACDs, and LPs from smaller labels. In some cases, I will do it (CCR SACDs, for example). Most of the time, however, I will wait for price drops or really good sales.

Thanks for the link Michael.[IMG] I never heard of this label before and just thought it might be Universal by another name since they own so bleedin' many labels.

The SACD format is overloaded with audiophile labels that want high prices. Yippee, another one![IMG] What the format needs is more "every man" labels with every man prices. When the format was really new I was more tolerant of highish prices. Now, I'm fed up with them...

Keith, I got the same e-mail as you, apparently. Howdy![IMG]
