I assume you are looking for concept videos like they played on MTV (as opposed to concert videos). I bought a couple music video compiliations on DVD at DVD Empire. They seem to be mostly 80s videos, although some are from the 90s. Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran are on a couple of them. Do a search on DVD Empire for "Big Hits." Under the Customers Also Bought section, you'll find others in the series--I think there are about 10 total. Not the greatest quality in the world, but I found them acceptable.

P.S.--That Duran Duran DVD set sounds great [IMG]

[IMG] That Duran Duran DVD looks the biz. I can't wait to see them live in Glasgow next year.

I remember seeing some of those Big Hits DVD collections in Virgin Megastore. I'll check them out. Hopefully Huey, Billy Idol etc can release a video collection DVD soon. Man I love the 80's! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I was wondering if the Meatloaf DVD has the MTV videos or if it is concert footage?

In the spirit of my last post, here are all the DVDs I currently own that have 80's MTV-type videos on them (whether concert or concept videos). Hey, on a related note, I met Alan Hunter once...great guy!

All these pics (except for one...guess which! [IMG] ) are Amazon's, so that's where the %-off thing comes from:

I know that this will never see the light of day, but I would really like to see a Milli Vanilli compilation.

Their coverup aside, the music was rhythmic and enticing, and enjoyable.

A-ha has got a "greatest hits" collection on dvd called "headlines and deadlines". In my mind it doesn't get any more 80s than "Take on me"....

If you're multiregional, it seems korean R3 has a few exclusives to offer:

    Duran Duran

Guns'n Roses: Welcome to the videos , as well as a 2-disc set from their 1992 Tour
    Both are in DTS...........

What do you all think this is Christmas? LOL

Add to that Jefferson Starship Greatest hits, Yeah I know Grace Slick will sing about her 'White Rabbit' and "Somebody to Love". There is also the the other version of Sara, unlike Stevie Nicks Of Fleetwood Mac Fame.

I got Blondie(Deborah Harry) when she looked so good! I also have the rap "Thriller' with Vincent Price and boy wonder Jocko trying to sing. A good DVD would have both Duran Duran and AHa together, for both groups sang a title on a Jame Bond Movie. Set the bass all the way up and I am tweaking dude. I just received my "Turtles" DVD 90 minutes of rocumentary amongst some great tunes of the sixties. [IMG]

Was seeing on one site this past Friday at work (sorry, don't have the name of the site here at home), that September is the new release date of a DVD collection from Pat Benatar. If so, hope it happens this time....

By the way...her brand new album GO is wonderful! If you liked her in the 80's and the 90's...you are sure to find something to love in 2003![IMG]

Since it's been mentioned, I gotta say that you WON'T want "I Want My DVD"- I have vol. 2 and it's unbelievably awful. All the videos look like they were taken from a VHS tape- the sound is mono and the beginning and end of a lot of them are cut off. I've watched it a few times just to marvel at how awful it is- my Philips DVD recorder has produced discs much better than this one! (What was up with them splitting that into 2 volumes anyways; they easily could've fit both on one disc!)
I've got a lot of older videos on laserdisc (just found Depeche Mode "Some Great Videos" today at the flea market!) and I've borrowed a few from friends to put on recordable DVD (I'll buy the legitimate releases if they ever come out!)
I actually bought "Milli Vanilli In Motion" on VHS a while ago for a laugh; wish I'd grabbed it on laserdisc when I had the chance!
