    Good evening,

I have several 1970’s stereo receivers. These are great looking, sounding units each rated at > 100 wpc. Has anyone had success with a separates system made up of 70’s stuff?

Will an A/V receiver with sufficient pre-outs tie everything togeather? Will I have volume and tone control from each of the 2-channel receivers?

    Thanks,
    Gary

    thanks again

If I understand what you are trying to do, you wish to use the amps in the 2 old receivers as part of a 5.1 system? If so you need pre-amp inputs on the old stuff and pre-amp outs on the new 5.1 A/V receiver. The 5.1 A/V receiver hooked-up in such a manner will have all the contols as the old receivers will just be used as amps. For the old stuff, the pre-amp ins usually had shorting jumpers inserted in the female RCA jacks.
