7.1 seating?

    My couch is against the back wall where the surround back speakers would be. Is it worth it to get 7.1 if the speakers would be right behind me or a little above. They would probably be about 4 ft. above people heads when they are sitting.

    They really reccomend pointing the speakers up in this situation in 6.1 / 7.1... It can be done.

    Where are your side surrounds? They are usually just opposite the ends of your seating or slightly behind the seating. No chance you can move the seating forward 3 feet?

    Use multipolar speakers. Thats the best way to do it. If you must use direct radiators do as John suggests.

    I cant move the seating up. Thanks for the reply's looks like they will be points up.
