7.1 DVD's

    Does anyone know if there are any DVD's encoded in 7.1 yet? I think i ve only seen a few movies in 6.1

    To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a consumer 7.1 format yet.

    Haven't heard of any true 7.1's yet.

    As stated above, there is no 7.1 DD/DTS format. The confusion comes from the fact that (a) Some receivers/processors have a proprietary 7.1 format that is not standard and (b) Some EX/ES capable receivers have 2 rear surround speakers. These 2 rears are mono only and will output the same channel in "6.1" (DD-EX, DTS-ES) mode.
