7.1 and DTS ES Discreet (1 Viewer)

I'm debating between the Onkyo 898 and 797. If I were running the reciever with both side and rear surrounds 7.1 would the discreet signal sent the the center surround speakers be identical? If I went with the 797 and got a pair of small bookshelves could and should i run them in Series (16 Ohm) on the Center Surround?

Easy solution. Buy the 898 from J&R for around $1000 and get the full deal. Better sound quality, more power, more features. I recently bought one and I love it. The remote controls my entire system and the ease of use is fantastic.
