65H80/2109 Tosh DVD Settings Question (1 Viewer)

I have my 2109 DVD player (still haven't pulled the trigger on progressive scan) hooked up to my 65H80 using component cables to the HD2 inputs. I have the DVD player settings set to a 16:9 picture size. Now if the TV picture size is set to "Normal" then the picture is a squished 4:3 shape with grey bars on the sides. The picture looks correct when the TV is set to "Theater Wide".
Is this the correct way to be viewing my DVDs? I would think since the DVD player is set for 16:9 then the TV would be set to normal, but that isnt the case unless I am doing something completely wrong.
Just need to know if I've set it up correctly.

DVD player set to 16.9, Toshiba set to full for anamorphic dvds, theater wide for non anamorphic dvds...
