We had seen a SXRD at a very reputable high end shop last week. I know it was setup right and they had Fox "HD" Football on. Looked pretty good in comparision to our Grand Wega, more of a glossy image but not a whole lot sharper considering Fox's original signal. You could tell however if it was supplied a better signal the PQ would be vastly superior to a GW especially in color reproduction.

We were back a few days ago to audition our setup and they had some stretched 480i/480p content on. The 60" was very very slow and macroblocking during fast action. It was a soccer game. The 50" SXRD right next to it didn't suffer from it.

Obviously the unit has to now res up/down to 1920x1080 no matter what and I'm wondering if the processor is a bit slow doing the work or what was causing it.

Does LCOS suffer from the same latency problems as older LCD's?

Depends on the panel. I know that the SXRD chips in the Qualia 004 are very fast, but the JVC's HD2K is slower. This is pixel response time, not processing related.

I am not sure which version we saw. The GW SXRD or the Qualia SXRD.

Is there a big difference in the two?

I'm not familiar with consumer stuff, "GW?"
