Recently picked up a SVS 25-31cs from a fellow member. I did not bother to tell my girlfriend about it... I though I would let her discover the SVS on her own. Well... it's been 6 days (tomorrow it will be a week) and she STILL has not noticed the SVS! For those of you who's wives are worried it might look large and obtrusive in the living room tell them my anicdote... they' won't even notice it's there! Or better yet... but it behind their back and hide it in the living room and see how long it will take her to notice. I just though I would add that normally my girlfriend is a very observant person too. I was sweating the first day or two I got it just wondering when she would notice. She didn't even say anything last night when I was doing 20-99hz sine sweeps last night taking measurements. I'll have a interesting compairison between my 25-31 and my $81 sonosub to follow.

Looks real good! I bet my wife noticed my 16-46 coming in today :-|
On a side note, I like that flashlight on the chest...handy for kicking out unruly patrons! lol
My alternate comment was I've heard of controlled lighting but that's a bit extreme!
Sorry, too many you make the caption contests...

I think most wives just tune out what they don't want to see. We had some people coming over a few weeks ago and my wife said, "Honey, could you take that big black thing off the TV?" (it's actually on top of the entertainment center)
IT'S CALLED A CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER, DEAR! [IMG]
Oh, and it's not new either, it's been up there for over a year.
But if I don't notice those new pillows on the bed, watch out! [IMG]

The shots currently on my web page were shot with a Sony Mavica MVC-FD71. That thing takes CRAP for pictures. Terrible with no/low light... but it has a built in floppy!!! This new pictures were taken with a Kodak DC-265. This is a FAR superior camera. As you can see the pictures are super sharp even in no/low light situations. All these pictures were taken with all the lights off in the house (cept for the one behind the TV) and all the blinds closed (even though it was dusk). The pictures you see were reduced by 60% with Photoshop and had 1.10 gamma correction added. Got a update though:
Girlfriend called a few minutes ago telling me I received some laserdiscs... still no mention of the Subwoofer! Maybe she'll notice when she puts in Daylight DTS?
Stay tuned for my SVS v. $81 head to head battle that I post tonight! You will be suprised at the results... I certainly was!

[IMG] I tried this very same thing with my GF. Didn't work.
That SVS16-46pc is REEEEEEEEEAL hard to hide! She noticed it after about 5 minutes.
But, since I pay for damn near everything in my house, she has about zero say so in much of anything.
...now if I was married. [IMG]

I looked at the first picture and thought, "Where the hell is the SVS?"
Excellent job hiding it! For the record, I didn't tell my live-in girlfriend until after I ordered my SVS because I knew I'd have no chance of hiding it. It's all good though; she loves the SVS as much as I do and I even caught her demo-ing it for her sister just a couple days ago!
