Does anyone out there using a single rear center channel for 6.1 actually experience "reversal". From what I understand it's a psycho-acoustic phenomena whereby the huiman brain *can* misconstrue sounds coming from directly behind you, as not from behind you, but from in front of you. Is this really just in theory, or is 7.1 that much more of an improvement over 6.1

Can't say that I have experience with this phenomenon in the 6.1 area, but I did have this type of problem with my Dipole surrounds. Sounds engineered to be in the rear center would sound like they were coming from front and center, i.e. the dog growling in the Monsters Inc. trailer. Turning your head slightly would shift the sound from the front to the rear. I am currently building my HT and I will be adding 2 rear surround channels to compliment my Dipoles.
