57hx81 Or 65hx81 Help! (1 Viewer)

I am going to buy either the Tosh 57HX81 or the 65HX81. I will be sitting approx. 10' from the screen. I looked at both in the store, and the 57" seemed a bit small. Don't know if that was because I was in a big showroom or not. $$ not the issue, I just don't want to buy the 65 and then regret it. Need your opinion please, because I'm having the wall unit built soon to fit the set I decide on. Thanks.

I have the 57HX81 and sit 8 feet from the screen and it is just about right. But it all depends upon your tastes. I did not want to regret getting too small a screen. I say go for it. I doubt many people lay awake at night wishing they had gotten a smaller screen size. Just the opposite.

Not the definitive answer you were looking for, but what the heck.

This is really a matter of taste. I'll be sitting 14 ft away from my 57hx81 and I couldn't imagine sitting any closer. On the other hand I've heard from people who sit 5-6 ft away from this set and love it.

I also think that the 57 incher looks small on the showroom floor. However, I think that will change once I get it in the house. You also may want to consider how big your overall room size is. You don't want the 65 inch to take over the whole room. Not sure if that's an issue for you...

How did the 65 inch look in the store at 10' away? How big is your room that the TV will be in?
