While removing the protective screen, I made the mistake of not paying attention to the positioning of the "shiny" screen. I'm not sure which way it was facing. I notice one side is a bit smoother than the other. I also noticed a small blue sticker on the lower corner.
Actually, while I'm asking.....I had my set ISF'd with the protective screen in the rear & had gray scale & mechanical focus done. Would it be a mistake at this point to leave the protective screen out since it was in when ISF was done? Please help.

Hi Mark,
I doubt gray scale will be seriously effected if you remove the protective screen. However, you need to place spacers around the inside of the screen's frame before putting the Lenticular back in place to ensure that it remains in the same position so focus is not effected. Give me a call if you have any more questions.

If there is one truism here ... it's that everything seems to have an impact on grayscale.
Removing the protective screen completely will impact the grayscale. It will throw it off by 100 to 200 degrees ... ymmv. Changing the focus distance will also affect the grayscale ...
The fresnel lens has a label that faces the back of the TV ...
