563A sub test tone not working (1 Viewer)

My 563A sub test tone does not work, and when I increase the sub level on the menu, the sub level does not change. All speakers are set to large, and the sub is set to on in the 563's menu.
The 6-ch outputs are fed into my AVM20. The sub itself gets LFE signals, I think, because when I play SACDs or DVD-As with only the sub cable pluged into the back of he 563 (and all other cables unplugged), the sub outputs bass, and then it outputs more bass when the center channel is plugged in (even though its set to large, the 563 considers it small and redirects some bass to the sub).
Also, I don't think my AVM-20's LFE adjustment affects the sub.
Any ideas what's going on? I've ruled out bum cables.

The test tone is not going to work cause there is none. Do a search on the 563a and you'll find lots of info about dealing with bass managment. There was this very long review thread that had info on how to set it correctly. for Sub test you need a test disc.
