Hey guys. I'm looking to get this set in the near future and I'm wondering if it requires frequent bulb changes? Is it like a DLP? Thanks

Like all RPTVs (except the new LED DLPs) it requires a high intensity light bulb as the illumination source, so yes, it needs bulb changes. In general these bulbs seem to have a min of 1000 hours with an average of closer to 3000 hours.

I've put about 4,000 hours on my 56" JVC H-DILA since I got it in October of 2005 and I'm on the original bulb. YMMY.

Regards,

Joe

Patrick, HD sets with PIP are few and far between due to the cost and complexity of including 2 ATSC tuners. The XBR2 Sonys have single tuner PIP-set's tuner for one pic and any external input for the second.

That would be enough for me. It does appear that the current JVC D-ILA line offers P-i-P. (I guess that call it multi-screen).
