Hello, I just noticed that one of my Gamecube games, Soul Calibur, supports progressive scan if the Gamecube is hooked up via the component video cable (which mine is). It says in parentheses (525p) every time it says "Progressive Scan". My question is, will this work on my TV since my TV says it has 480/720/1080, but doesn't mention 525? Is this a progressive scan mode that my TV does not support? I'll check to see if it works when I get home tonight too.

    Thanks.

    Greetings

480p and 525p are the same thing.

525 is the scan line system which includes roughly 45 lines for other non image related things like auto colour signals ... time codes ... closed captioning ... macrovision ... sync ...

    regards

    Thanks!

That makes sense that then that it would have 45 "extra" lines for "extra" info since it's a video game right? It seems like it would have extra info.

I'm going to check it out tonight and see how much better it looks. It looks pretty sweet right now, running in "normal" mode.
