I can't seem to find the answer, but can the service menu be accessed on these new sets .. to at least do the convergence?
Also, how well does 540p upconversion perform on this set?
    thanks,
    dan

Press MUTE on the Remote 3 times.
On the third press hold, and press menu on the TV.
    An "S" should appear.
Press Menu again on the TV.
Now you should be able to scroll through the different settings by pressing Channel Up/Down and Volume Up/Down to change the values.
I don't know what does what. (yet!)
Be sure to write all the preaet values down and don't change anything unless you know what it does.

Does pressing the number 7 then bring up the convergence grids? Is the service menu convergence still accesible?
    thanks,
    dan

Well, to answer my own question, I went to Best Buy tonight to take a look at the 50H81. Yes, the service menu convergence is still there .. that makes me happy [IMG] However, the sales clerk was a little upset when I brought the grids up .. I don't think he knew what they were [IMG]
Oh well, too bad the designer menu isn't there. I wouldn't know how to fix the red push without it.

PS: Thanks for the info on how to get into the service menu, Cameron .. slightly different for my TW40X81
