I have $500 to spend and I wonder what the best Panasonic home theater is I can get. Just a DVD player and the sound system.

I've never had a home theater before, and it's been 3 years since I bought my last DVD player, so I'm kinda out of touch with the market.

Please help! :b

Are you sticking with Panasonic for any particular reason? One company that always intrigued me is Fluance. Do a search on them and you will find positive results. Here is a link to the site http://www.fluance.com/fluanceavhtb.html It is 200 USD for two floor standing fronts, a center, and two surrounds. I have never heard them but after reading the reviews I have been tempted to buy them for my bedroom. You could buy a 250 or lower Pioneer, Onkyo, or Kenwood receiver. Just to get an idea here is the msrp on some receivers http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...d=1&tn=0&l=&a= Then depending what you have left, which won't be much I would go with an Apex DVD player, or look for one used on this site. If I had 500 to spend and I wanted to get sound and a dvd that is the way I would go. Good luck with your decision, and yes, elMalloc is correct when he says the options will be narrow when it comes to satisfying your demands with your means, but it can be done. :emoji_thumbsup:

Start off with the new SC-HT400 (Link Removed) and add a DVD-RV32 (Link Removed)
Total is $600 at MSRP, but if you shop around a bit, you should be able to get much closer to your $500 target.
