I just finished painting one side of the shelves for the Flexy rack I'm building. I got 5/8" steel rods (zinc?) wanted to put spikes on the bottom.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get some that would screw on to 5/8" rods?

Also does anyone know how I can 'clean' these rods to shine? I'm painting the shelves flat black ;-)

A wire wheel on a bench grinder (or drill) works well. Mineral spirits or paint thinner will take off any oil/gunk.

Thanx Greg. I'm off to HD for that attachment. I guess I'll use a paint remover for removing some 'color coding' HD did to it :)

Now if I can only find spikes with 5/8" threaded holes ... I saw a spike set @ Parts Express but doesn't seem to be 5/8" threaded holes :-(
