I'm looking for a 5.1 preamp, preferably on the cheap end. Ideally, i'd like something that was 'high end' a few years ago, that is now cast aside in favor of a 7.1 reciever.

I have a borrowed Sony TAE-9000ES pre-amp that I'm sure it's owner would love to sell. I think it's worth about $400 and it's an amazing pre-amp. I had been using it after he upgraded his system and now I've outgrown it since it doesn't switch component or dvi/hdmi video. If this pre-amp had HD switching and a better remote I would have never cast it aside, it sounds great (doesn't seem to add to or color the sound) and passes video without noticable degradation. PM me if this something you are interested in and I'll talk to owner about selling it.

You can pick up one of the Outlaw models off of Audiogon or Videogon and be set for a while *and* have money left over for interconnects [IMG]
