In looking around, I've come across several titles that are available to rent/purchase in iTunes via the Apple TV 4K, that are in Dolby Vision. But when I look at the 4K UHD Blu-ray releases of these same titles, they were never released in anything but HDR10. So is Apple/iTunes converting them or are they updated releases just for iTunes? One example is Mad Max: Fury Road. There are others. Hmm..

Dolby Vision was basically non-existent on HT equipment when Mad Max: Fury Road came out. Therefore, much of the software didn't bother to release Dolby Vision titles during the initial 2 years of 4K/UHD.

I see, but are the studios then remastering in Dolby Vision just for iTunes (and perhaps other streaming services)? I doubt they'll release a Dolby Vision updated Blu-ray 4K anytime soon.
