48 Hours --- why are my TV's scanlines visible while watching it?

I have an HDTV (Sony KP-57WS520) and progressive scan DVD player (Panasonic XP30) and while watching "48 Hours" (which is anamorphic) the scanlines on my TV were very noticable. However, I don't see scanlines on any other anamorphic DVDs I have viewed so far. So why just 48 Hours? Just seems kind of odd.

I thought 48 Hours was an old 4x3 letterbox transfer,
    not a 16x9 transfer.

Well, that explains seeing the scan lines. I just realized I watched it in "Zoom Mode" on my TV. LOL.

Any word of this being released anamorphically?

I haven't heard anything yet about a new transfer,
but I'll buy it as soon as it's available.[IMG]
